Shalom, Shalom!
There are times when everyone gets discouraged, and we are no exception!
At times like these it's encouraging to look back and be reminded
of what the Lord has accomplished that we've been a small part of.
Recently, a friend shared the following letter with us.
"My wife and I were allowed by God to enter full-time Jewish ministry
in the summer of 1984. The Lord opened the door for us to do a Jewish
ministry internship in York. We were serving as Associate Pastor
of a church in Wisconsin, and in order to become Jewish Ministry
Interns, we had to raise our financial support for our time in York.
A young man in the church we were serving gave me a copy of The
Olive Tree Connection by Dr. John Fischer. The clear way that the
message was presented in that book allowed me to share the Messianic
Vision with the same clarity, and this was the main factor that
helped us raise the needed support for our Internship in Jewish
Ministry.
"God allowed a non-Jewish couple to be trained and raised up in
the Messianic Jewish Movement. It is a great privilege and blessing
to serve God in this movement, and is something I thank God for
regularly. So, thank you, John Fischer, for having an impact on
a young minister that is bearing fruit to this day."
The writer went on to be the rabbi of a Messianic synagogue in the
Chicago area.
The following came by e-maili from the rabbi of a Messianic synagogue
in Sacramento, California.
"I have taken several Yeshiva courses; I was concerned with having
the training to be an effective leader. Your course transformed
my ministry. My preaching is more biblically-based and sound than
before. My delight in studying the word is greater than before.
Thank you for your work in the Yeshiva and for the Messianic movement
and personally for what your course and your siddur has meant to
me and my congregation."
Another piece of correspondence also came recently by e-mail.
"Let me again express appreciation for all you did for me while
we were in the U.S. a few years ago. You made it possible for me
to embark on a great adventure, which G-d used in my life to excite
me about Him, and to move on from inevitable disappointments of
life."
This friend of ours went on to become Dean of King of Kings College
in Jerusalem and a founder of a Messianic synagogue there as well.
Your financial contributions and prayers have enabled us to have
this impact. Thank you for being a part of all this!
Warmly in our Messiah,
John & Patrice Fischer
