Shalom, Shalom!
This traditional Jewish greeting becomes even more significant as
we approach the " Millennium." It means not merely "peace", which
would be a sufficient wish of itself. It means "harmony" and "settledness"
as well, especially with respect to a person's relationship with
the Lord. So, "shalom" is our wish for you as you enter the millennium,
a "shalom" based on the Messiah whose birth we celebrate at this
very significant season.
It's been an exciting several weeks since our last letter. These
have included teaching yeshiva classes in Cleveland and Connecticut,
as well as presenting a paper at the Evangelical Theological Society
in Boston. The responses from each of these sessions were most encouraging.
Since ours is a ministry in which you share, we wanted to share
these responses with you.
From the Cleveland yeshiva:
"This class was awesome!"
"I've learned more in 4 days than in 4 years of Bible College."
"You really impacted my life; you'll never know just how much."
A student with tears in her eyes - "I've learned more in these last
3 or 4 days than in 15 years! Thank you so much."
From the Connecticut yeshiva:
"This was totally stimulating and challenging; it deeply affected
my perspective."
Another student with tears in her eyes - "I need to tell you something.
After I graduated from high school and I went to college, my faith
was badly shaken and my life became a shambles. This class has restored
the foundation to my faith, and my life feels settled once again.
Thanks."
"WOW! That was great! Now, I can't wait to talk to someone about
Yeshua!"
From the Boston conference:
An Israeli scholar who is working on one of the Dead Sea Scrolls
- "I k I was at home as soon as I walked in. Listening to your session
was like a breath of fresh air!"
This is what you make possible by your prayers and contributions.
Thank you!
AN IMPORTANT REQUEST:
As Menorah Ministries moves into the millennium, we face a very
serious financial shortage. While contributions have remained consistent
and steady over these last few years, ministry costs - printing,
postage, phone, materials, insurance, etc. - have all risen dramatically.
Please prayerfully consider not only a special contribution, but
also please consider beginning (or increasing) a regular monthly
investment in our shared ministry in order to help stabilize our
financial situation. We really need your active partnership in this
way. Thank you very much.
Have a special and significant holiday season!
