Shalom, Shalom!
Spring is often looked on as a season of things or of real. As Spring
draws to a close, we look back and thank G-d for things and for
reals. At the Jewish holiday of Shavuot (Pentacost) 5 members of
our Messianic synagogue formally expressed and reed their commitment
to Yeshua as Messiah. Several weeks earlier, we had some additions
to our Menorah Ministries family. No, not babies, staff members!
So, we thought we'd update you on the Menorah Ministries family.
We introduced you to Barb Thomson almost four years ago when she
took over as our office manager. She is both a graduate of our Israel
trips (plan on June 2001), an almost graduate of our Judaic Studies
program at St. Petersburg Theological Seminary, and a soon-to-be
bride! As office manager, she helps coordinate the various ministries
related to Menorah Ministries, including: Netzer David International
Yeshiva, The Association of Messianic Believers, and of course,
Congregation Ohr Chadash, our Messianic synagogue. As you can imagine,
she keeps very busy, and without her we could not do all we are
doing.
Next are Roger and Naomi Walkwitz, who are headquartered near Gainsville,
Florida. Roger and Naomi have been part of our team for over 8 years.
They came to us after a successful congregation-planting and discipling
ministry in the Philippines with SEND International for more than
30 years! During that time they were also able to study and minister
in Israel. Now, as they represent Menorah Ministries, they teach
seminars on Israel today and on the Jewish roots of the Bible, lead
study tours to Israel, and speak at conferences. They have also
had a ministry among Israeilis resident in the U.S.
Our est "arrivals" are Tom and Lynn Tribelhorn. After extensive
work in Judaeo-Christian studies in England, Tom is receiving his
Ph.D. He also has a degree from Jerusalem University College among
his other degrees. He has been both a teacher and a pastor. Lynn's
background is more exotic. After her own education, she served God
in Hawaii for a dozen years! Tom and Lynn dated in college, then
went their separate ways, only to get married 16 years later! After
marrying, they went to teach at the European Bible Institute. Now,
working in the Ft. Myers, Florida area, they have several responsibilities
as part of the Menorah Ministries team. They will be sharing the
work of Menorah Ministries in churches, as well as teaching seminars
and classes on Israel, the Jewish backgrounds of the Bible, sharing
the gospel with Jewish people, and related topics. And, just as
importantly, they will assist us in the training of future Messianic
leaders through the Netzer David International Yeshiva, which we
mentioned in our last sletter. So we welcome them to our team.
And then we can't overlook the rest of our volunteer Menorah Ministries
family. Betsy Wildman takes care of thank you's and receipts for
contributors. She (with a capable assist from her husband Randy)
will also upgrade our computer data bases. Becky Allison, along
with Art and Betty Brown, makes sure that you receive the Menorah
Ministries sletter regularly.
So, you see, Menorah Ministries is a true "family affair." And you
are just as important as part of our family by your prayers and
financial support. Thanks for being part of our team!
Warmly in our Messiah,
John, Patrice, Eve & Seth
