Dear Potential Israel Team Members,
You expressed an interest in joining our "Experience Israel" trip
this summer. Since there has been considerable unrest and extensive
coverage of the events in Israel, we felt an update on the trip
was in order.
Over the last three months we have been in contact with both friends
in Israel and with tour groups who have actually gone and returned.
What we wanted from all of them was their first-hand assessment
of the situation and their counsel on our impending trip, so we
could share the information with you.
"Our man in Jurusalem", whom we've known and worked with for almost
15 years, told us this past week that whether we were to go last
month or today, he would still confidently advise us to go ahead
with the trip. Our good friend and former tour guide, whom we've
known for almost ten years, said if we were to come tomorrow, he
would still advise us to come; and he added, the situation will
only improve by summer.
In addition we have heard from five other sources - two Jewish and
three Christian tour groups - who have traveled to Israel between
November and January, that they experienced no problems and did
not have any fear for their safety. And, they encouraged other groups
to come.
On the basis of this information we are proceding with our plans
to go to Israel this summer. Thanks to the cooperation and understanding
of our agents in Israel we have been able to extend the deadline
for the initial deposits for the trip. The $350 per person deposit
will now not be due until February 14 - Happy Valentine's Day! :-)
If, for any reason, we have to cancel the trip, all monies will
of course be completely refunded.
See you in Jerusalem in June!
Most warmly,
Drs. John and Patrice Fischer
