TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED
As we "begin the Year," we can look back on a very eventful and
traumatic year gone by. As many have pointed our, as a result of
the tragic events of September 11, things have changed, and will
never be the same again.
For Menorah Ministries, as we look back over the year, it was a
time of blessing and productivity. But it was also a very difficult
year financially, as we have mentioned in previous newsletters.
Whether this was due to the events of 9-11 or not, we don't truly
know.
However, even recently, and from a completely unexpected source,
we received encouragement from the following email:
"I live in Memphis, Tennessee. With all the controversy surrounding
Christmas, I decided to take my questions to the best possible source.
I went to the Messianic congregation here in Memphis. The rabbi
just happened to be focusing that day's sermon on this subject.
He based it on your teaching, and gave me a copy of your tape. Thanks
so much for reminding me what Christmas is all about, celebrating
the birth of the Messiah and spreading his word around the world.
You are a blessing. Thanks again."
We also received a letter from another unexpected source, and we
wanted to share that encouraging tale as well.
"Several years ago, I was in a return flight from Chicago to Nashville,
TN. It was Easter week; soon Easter Sunday was to be here. I was
reading my King James at 30,000 feet, which I love to do, and I
ran across a problem (so-called problem) of before and after the
Sabbath, concerning the crucifixition of Yeshua. I distinctly remember
asking God to help me understand. The plane landed and soon I walked
into my house. Usually my wife or some of the kids are home; it
was evening. I wondered where is everybody? I laid down my travel
bag and turned on the T.V. I canĄt remember if you popped up immediately
or if I channel surfed, but within seconds I saw Rabbi John Fischer
on 'The Good Life' broadcast. The Ruach HaShem (Spirit of God) allowed
me to see the show already in progress but perfectly as the host
was introducing Rabbi Fischer. The host stated that you were going
to unravel some misconceptions about Passover and apparent errors
or confusion when reading the Gospels. At this point I dropped to
my knees; later tears would flow as you explained of the 3 calendars:
the Essenes', Pharisees' and Sadducees'. By this point I was on
the floor weeping with Holy Joy, knowing that God had heard and
answered my prayer. Not only that, but how could it be that no one
was home, and that I tuned in perfectly on time. I said to Yeshua,
'You really meant what Paul said in II Tim. 3:16.' I was so excited
the next day I ordered the VHS tape, and I have shared this with
many people in middle Tennessee. What came to pass that night was
Yeshua the Messiah's promise. 'For those who seek me, THEY SHALL
find me.' Since that evening I have been incredibly blessed by your
teaching tapes. I will continue to promote my favorite rabbi, the
one whom Yeshua allowed me to come into contact with. As you have
taught me: 'Baruch Habbah Shem Adonai' (Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord)."
And, that is part of our mission at Menorah Ministries, taking Yeshua's
message wherever we can, even to people we never get to meet.
And, thank you for your prayers, encouragement and involvement!
It makes all this possible.
Love in our Messiah,
John and Patrice
